2 Trojans earn medals at Rumble

 The New Prague Trojan wrestling team traveled to Fargo, ND, last week for the 72-team Rumble on the Red tournament, held in the FargoDome.

Nine Trojan wrestlers competed in the varsity tournament, with two of them - Nick Arguedas and Sam Reyant, earning medals. Two other Trojans, Tayler Montanye and Brennan Rutt, went 4-2 and missed the medal round by one match. The tournament was held Thursday and Friday, Dec. 29 and 30.

Arguedas, wrestling at 160 pounds, went 5-3, winning his first two matches, After losing in the quarterfinals, he went to the consolation round wining two more matches before losing the next two. He placed sixth.

Reyant, wrestling at 138 pounds, won his first two matches, lost one, then won three more before losing his final two. He went 5-3 and placed eighth.

Montanye, wrestling at 170 pounds, and Rutt, at 182 pounds, both went 4-2. Rutt also earned his 50th career varsity win at the tournament.
