Adapted softball tops Dakota United

New Prague’s adapted softball team split a pair of games last week, losing to Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville and defeating Dakota United. The team’s April 26 game with St. Paul Humboldt was cancelled.

The team, which includes athletes from Tri-City United, Le Sueur-Henderson, Belle Plaine and Jordan, has a 2-4 record and was scheduled to host Chanhassen/Chaska/Prior Lake/Shakopee on Wednesday, May 3. They will host Minneapolis Monday, May 8, and play at South Washington Wednesday, May 10, at Woodbury High School. Home games are played at the middle school gym in New Prague.

Garrett Gagner had an outstanding game in center field. He had five catches that were amazing. Leading New Prague at the plate were Chase Smith, going 3- for-3, and Charlie Zielinger, Jacob Schermann and Gagner each going 2-for-3.

Trojans 14, Hawks 11 The Trojans had their best game of the season Monday against Dakota United. After a rocky first inning, the team came together, stayed focused and were able to hold on to a win. After one inning, New Prague trailed 4-1, and the Hawks added two more in the second.
