Adeline Bauer, 98

Adeline A. Novak Bauer, 98, of Maplewood, formerly of Veseli, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Homestead Assisted Living in Maplewood.

Adeline was born January 5, 1915, in Wheatland Township, Rice County, a daughter of Frank W. and Elizabeth (Sevcik) Sticha. She was raised in Veseli, attended Veseli Elementary School, and later moved and worked in New Prague. Adeline married William Novak on September 5, 1933, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Veseli. She later married Albert Bauer in November 1968 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. Adeline worked as an accountant and clerk for Dvorak Grocery and accountant for Minnesota Valley Breeders Assn., both in New Prague. She also worked at Montgomery Ward in Faribault, the Eagles Club, and the State School in Faribault. She had been a member of the Faribault Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter Bernice (Jerry) Dolinsky, Blaine; stepdaughter Elaine Chavie, Faribault; stepson Jerome (Judy) Bauer, Medford; two stepdaughters-inlaw Lucille Bauer, Faribault, and Blanche Reichert, Farmington; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband on September 30, 1934; her second husband on October 3, 1980; her parents; and siblings Edward E. Sticha, Julia Novotny and Elsie Svoboda.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, with Rev. Kevin Clinton officiating.

Pallbearers will be greatgrandchildren Nicholas Dolinsky, Michael Dolinsky, Lucy Dolinsky, Elizabeth Dolinsky and Daniel Dolinsky.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
