Albina Tuma, 89

Albina “Dena” M. Tuma, 89, of Hopkins, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

Born in Montgomery on March 31, 1915, Albina was a daughter of John Stasney and Elizabeth Kotek. She grew up in Montgomery where she attended Montgomery grade school and was a 1933 graduate of Sherman High School.

Her marriage to Louis Tuma took place in Minneapolis in 1949. They farmed near Heidelberg till 1968 where Albina was a homemaker. She was also employed as a manager at Munsingwear in Montgomery and also worked at Minnesota Valley Breeders Association from 1964-1968 after which she moved to Minneapolis.

Albina is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Callahan, Golden Valley, and one granddaughter, Jennifer Callahan, Minneapolis, and fiance, Michael Berry; two brothers, Francis (Yvonne) Trcka, Montgomery, Stanley Trcka, Faribault; sister-in-law, Erna Trcka, Lawton, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Tuma in November, 1961; father, John Stasney; parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Kotek) Trcka; and two brothers, Milo and James Trcka.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 23, at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague. Sister Dolores Zieser, Pastoral Care, of St. Therese Southwest, Hopkins, officiated.

Interment was at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.

Visitation was held one hour at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague before the services.

Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
