Alvin Trcka
Alvin George Trcka, 91 of New Prague, formerly of Montgomery, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery at 11 a.m. with Father Dave Barrett officiating. Visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Alvin was born on April 8, 1925, at home in Wheatland Township to George and Albina (Jakes) Trcka. Alvin was united in marriage to Irene (Cecka) Trcka in Lonsdale on September 30, 1950. Alvin was a retired dairy and crop farmer.
Alvin was a member of the Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsman Club, Faribault Eagles Club and Montgomery Shipping Association.
He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, woodworking, working on puzzles, hunting and fishing, drawing and sketching. Alvin and Irene enjoyed going out with friends, being part of many card clubs, and enjoyed traveling.
Alvin is survived by his children, Sandy Brossard of Rochester, Paul (Sue) Trcka of Rochester, Barb (Mike) Holicky of Montgomery, and Mark (Deb) Trcka of Montgomery; sister, Gladys Soulek; grandchildren, Katy, Bryan and Meredith Trcka, Peter, Dan, Matt and Sarah Holicky, and David and Emilie Trcka; step-grandchildren, Shelly (Troy) Bjerke, Kerry (Jody) Brossard, Kyle Brossard, Alexa, and Sydni Fryer; great-step-grandchildren, Calvin and Breanna Bjerke, Cody Brossard and Tyler Brossard.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene in 2001; brother, in infancy; son-in-law, Michael Brossard, and step-grandson, Cory Brossard.
