Amy Bohrer Reed, 47

Amy Bohrer Reed, 47, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, of breast cancer.

Amy was born September 22, 1965, in St. Paul to Edward and B a r b a r a Bohrer. She attended St. Luke's School, Derham Hall High School and Loras College. Later she earned two master's degrees, in exercise physiology and physical therapy, from Iowa State University. She was certified in the practice of NAET and in 2010 founded Essence Healing, a private practice in wholistic health both in New Prague and Shakopee. Being a spiritual healer gave her great joy and was one of her most loving legacies. Amy’s deepest love was being a mother to Katherine (21), Barbara Jean (12) and Joseph (9). Amy studied classical dance and in her teens and college years she was a gifted athlete in tennis and track. She loved her cats, coffee, the quiet of nature, music and the warmth of the sun. Her faith in God directed all of her decisions and was the source of her life.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Jean, her sister Barbara, her grandparents, and brother-in-law Douglas.

She is survived by her children, her father Edward, siblings Steve (Ann), Jocival (Grant), Therese (Charlie), Jackie, friend and business partner Rob, many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Cretin-Derham Hall High School, 550 S. Albert Street, St. Paul. Memorials preferred to her children’s educational fund.
