Angela Adeline Tuma, 86
Angela Adeline Tuma, 86 of Montgomery, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Angela was born on June 19, 1927, to Joseph J. and Mary (Sempaur) Pesta at home in Shieldsville Township, Montgomery. She was united in marriage to John James Tuma on January 4, 1944, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Northfield. She was a housewife, and she helped farm with her husband. Angela also worked at Green Giant, and owned and operated Town’s Edge Café for a number of years. She also worked at Control Data.
Angela was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, CCW, and the KC Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, tending flowers, baking, sewing quilts, old-time music and spending winters in Tucson, AZ.
She is survived by children Kenneth (Arlene) Tuma of Northfield, Cheryl (Ivan) Woodard of Grand Island, NE, David Tuma (fiancée Ruth Joss) of Brooklyn Center and Denise Tuma Pinc of Northfield; sister Elsie Kuchinka of Lonsdale; grandchildren Robert Tuma, Chris Tuma, Jodi Wojciak, Michael Walters, Peggy Nord, Tammy Nord, Krystle Tuma, Kayla Pinc and 22 great-grandchildren.
Angela is preceded in death by her husband John James Tuma; son, John David Tuma in infancy; parents Joseph and Mary Pesta; sisters, MaryAnn and husband Joseph Koldin, Julia and husband Joseph Rosival, Annie at age of 3 months; brothers John and wife Marcella Pesta, and Joseph and wife Helen Pesta; brothers-in-law Albert Tuma, Charles Tuma and Arnold Kuchinka, and sons-in-law James Johnson and Francis Pinc.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
