Anglers gather for Clear Lake Tournament

A winter tradition for outdoor enthusiasts attracted more than 300 people to Clear Lake in Lexington Township on Saturday, Jan. 30. The Lexington Sportsman’s Club held its annual ice fishing contest for people in and around Le Sueur County from 1 to 3 p.m.  While anglers hoped to reel in the largest fish and nab the $50 prize, others hoped to win the drawing cash prizes or one of the many raffle prizes.

Club President Danny Holicky said the turnout of adult and youth ice fishing anglers was about the same as last year, thanks in part to the nice weather. He added that the sponsors who donated the many prizes helped attract people to the event whose proceeds are used to aerate the lake.
