Bessie Trcka, 99

Bessie Trcka, 99, of Montgomery, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 17, 2005 at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery at 10:30 a.m. Deacon Leonard Shambour officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Ben Barta, Larry Adamek, Richard Ziskovsky, Jeffrey Dols, Dean Bartusek, Linda Havlicek, and Charlene Dietz.

Interment was held at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.

Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home.

Bessie was born on January 26, 1906 in Lanesburgh Township in Le Sueur County to Michael and Emma (Busta) Trcka. She attended Country School.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery, Bessie was widowed twice from first husband John H. Flicek, then George R. Trcka.

She was a homemaker and farmer and also an employee for Wilson’s Meat Packing in Faribault. She also worked for Schumacher’s in New Prague.

She loved cooking, gardening and fishing.

Surviving her are five daughters, Georgina Barta of Montgomery, Lillian (Joseph) Havlicek of New Prague, Evelyn (Elmer) Bartusek of Webster, Betty Ann (Joseph) Ziskovsky of Webster, and Donna (Ronald) Dols of New Prague, and daughter-in-law Marion Flicek of Montgomery. She also is survived by 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband John H. Flicek; second husband George R. Trcka; parents Michael and Emma Trcka; son, Elmer Flicek; daughter Lorraine (Myles) Adamek; son-in-law Ben Barta; two grandsons, Elmer Bartusek Jr, and Elmer Flicek Jr.; and four sisters, Mary Flicek, Rose Uhlir, Emma Pikal, and Elsie Holey.
