Benjamin Steven Smykalski
A son, Benjamin Steven, was born to Eric and Christy (Jindra) Smykalski of Le Sueur on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21 inches long. He joins sisters Melanie, 4-1/2, and Kaylee, 3.
Grandparents are Debbie Shambour of Le Sueur, Steve and Mona Grimm of Montgomery, Jolene and Ken Balfe of Kilkenny and Mark and Dina Jindra of Le Center. Great-grandparents are Len and Ellie Shambour of New Prague, Burt and Lou Grimm of Montgomery, Anne Meger of Le Center and Bob and Marilyn Smykalski of Mesa, AZ.
Krista Rose Novotny
A daughter, Krista Rose, was born to Curtis and Lora Lee (Yarke) Novotny of New Prague on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long. She joins a brother, Austin, 13.
Grandparents are Albert Jr. and Joyce Yarke of Sauk Centre and Arnita Novotny of New Prague.
Jacob Aaron Zahratka
A son, Jacob Aaron, was born to Nicholas Zahratka and Randi Heyer of Farmington on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long. He joins a brother, Ryan, 1-1/2.
Grandparents are Ed and Eve Zahratka of Elko, Nancy and Eduardo Estrada of Burnsville and Keith and Karen Heyer of Prior Lake. Great-grandparents are Rudy and Sandy Schumacher of Cleveland and Eva and Larry Heyer of Park Rapids.
