Board hears report on college prep for students
The New Prague Area School Board heard a report from high school counselor Mike Bartusek regarding college preparation efforts at the high school.
Bartusek told board members during their workshop meeting Monday, Feb. 13, that the school has been working to help students prepare for the ACT test, which is offered free of charge to all juniors in April. He talked about the Naviance and MCIS programs, which are online courses and practice tests that are made available to students throughout the year. In addition, students are reminded in February about other preparations for the exams.
Bartusek noted that the entire high school curriculum prepares students for the ACT test, which is a test traditionally used by colleges to assist them in determining whether to accept students.
