Boys golf team concludes season at Section tourney

The New Prague Trojan boys golf team saw its season end with the Section 2AAA meet at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.

Trojan junior Michael Geiger, hoping to earn a return trip to state, was the only Trojan to qualify for the second round at sections, but did not qualify for the state meet. Geiger shot a 78-83—161.

As a team, the Trojans were 11th of 12 teams in the first round of sections. Only the top four teams advanced.

First round scoring for the Trojans included Michael Geiger - 78, Noah Weichert - 84, Joey Hunt - 84, Andy Dalsin - 85, Henry Geiger - 88 and Patrick Kuehl - 92.

Minnetonka won the team championship, with a twoday total of 594, 12 strokes better than Chaska.

Minnetonka’s Ben Sigel was medalist with a 69-76— 145.
