Boys track wins Shakopee meet

The New Prague boys track and field team had two meets in Shakopee last week, taking sixth at the conference relays and two days later winning a four-team meet at the same track.

The Trojans were scheduled to compete in the Section 4AA True Team sectional meet at Orono Tuesday, May 11. New Prague is the defending section champion, having placed sixth at last year's State True Team Meet. The Trojans won the State True Team title in 2008. New Prague's next meet will be Thursday, May 20, at Shakopee.

Missota Relays

New Prague took sixth place at the Missota Relays Tuesday, May 4, at Shakopee. The meet included all relay events, and was a measure of a team's depth.

Prior Lake won the meet with 169 points, with Hutchinson and Shakopee tied for second at 157. They were followed by Farmington (149), Northfield (128), New Prague (115), Red Wing (73) and Holy Angels (53).

The Trojans had only one first place finish, in the 100-100-200-400 relay. They also had two seconds and two thirds.

First place: 100-100-200-400 relay (Hennes, Dittberner, Dubbe, Jensen, 1:37.89)

Second: 4x100 relay (Hennes, Dubbe, Tyler Ekness, Zack Shetka), 4x400 relay (Dubbe, Shetka, Nick Johnson, Jensen),

Third: 200-200-400-800 relay (Hennes, Dittberner, Shetka, Jensen); high jump (Dubbe, Alex Hendricks, Kyle Strand)

Fourth: 4x100 m. shuttle relay (Tannor Court, Dallin Dvorak, Nick Johnson, Strand), Triple Jump (Dittberner, Josiah Nunemaker, Tyler Floden)

Fifth: Pole vault (Hennes, Nolan Skluzacek, Michael Lunder), Long jump (Johnson, Ekness, Floden)

Shakopee quad

New Prague topped a four-team field at Shakopee Thursday, May 6. The Trojans had 125.5 points, well ahead of Farmington's 87.5. Shakopee had 46 and Hutchinson 13.

The Trojans had 10 first-place finishes, including three relay teams. Dvorak placed in two individual events along with a first-place relay squad, while Ekness had two-first place relay finishes and a fourth place in the 100 m.

First place: 4x800 relay (Nick Hirdler, Shawn Maddaus, Zach Dietz, Strand, 9:11.6), 4x200 relay (Hennes, Dittberner, Shetka, Johnson, 1:36.83), 4x100 relay (Shetka, Floden, Ekness, Dittberner, 46.94), Court (300 hurdles, 45.16), Foster Gall (200 m, 24.51), 4x400 relay (Dvorak, Kyle Buro, Haakon Doheny, Jensen, 3:42.17), Hennes (pole vault, 13-0), Nunemaker (triple jump, 37-6), Ekness (long jump, 17-7), Jay Reinke (discus, 126-8)

Second: Justin Delbow (110 hurdles), Reinke (shot put) Dvorak (300 hurdles), Tyler Miller (800 m)

Third: Court (110 hurdles), Andrew Salaba (1600 m), Johnson (300 hurdles), Doheny (200), Skluzacek (pole vault), Kyle Buro (triple jump)

Fourth: Dvorak (110 hurdles), Ekness (100 m.), Joe Ceplecha (triple jump), Gall (long jump)
