Bulldogs pay for day off with loss

The Bulldog Hockey Team learned a valuable lesson last week between their loss to Chaska on December 11 and then to Achiever NE Academy on December 13: Don’t take a day off between games.
At its game against Achiever, Bulldog Coach Shawn Carlson said the team suffered from lack of energy from its day off between games, and it cost them dearly.
“We came out very flat in the game against Achiever Academy,” Carlson said. “We just didn’t play with enough energy. We have to learn to never take a day off. We don’t want to get beat because we don’t bring our best effort, and that how the game felt.”

In the game against Chaska on December 11, the Bulldogs spent a lot of time in the defensive zone, Carlson noted. The local team did, however, score twice. Austin Braun, assisted by Brock Solomon sailed one in the first period. Jonny Favre, assisted by Brett Zallet and Like Regner, added the team’s only other goal in the second period.
The team couldn’t stop Chaska’s scoring twice in the second period and again in the third.
“Chaska has a nice skating team,” Carlson said.“Chris Amsden stopped a lot of pucks tonight for us, but we just couldn’t find the tying goal.”
