Carolyn Kes, 84

Carolyn M. Kes, 84, of Lakeville, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

Carolyn Margaret Kes was born June 9, 1923, in Lonsdale, a daughter of Frank and Frances Valek. She married Joseph T. Kes on October 29, 1946, in Lonsdale. She managed and cooked at the Lonsdale American Legion Club with her husband for more than 25 years. Prior to that, she managed Herrmann's Hall and later The South Forty Bar in Lonsdale. Carolyn was a member of the Lonsdale American Legion Auxiliary, the Immaculate Conception CCW and the Lonsdale Senior Center.

She is survived by children, Sharon Kes, Lonsdale, Roger (Linda) Kes, Lonsdale, Beverly (Bruce) Tenny, Fairmont, and Vern (Tammy) Kes, Webster; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ray Valek and Marion Jirik, both of Lonsdale.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale, with Rev. Troy Przybilla officiating.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale. Pallbearers were Jennifer and Paul Trcka, Jeff Kes, Josh Kes, Laura and Rachel Tenny.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at White Funeral Home in Lonsdale.
