Changes made to business expo

The New Prague Chamber of Commerce has announced changes for this year’s spring business showcase.

The event, formerly know as the Czech Country Expo will now be the known as the New Prague Business and Community Expo. It will have a new location, the Park Ballroom, and will be held on Saturday, March 23, from noon to 5 p.m.

According to a press release from the Chamber, the organization has taken sole responsibility for this year’s expo, in part due to the “unfortunate closing of Mobilize Montgomery,” one of the co-sponsoring organizations.

“All New Prague, Montgomery and Lonsdale area businesses and organizations are invited to participate,” the press release said, “and the event will promote our entire Czech Country.”

Kristy Mach, executive director of the Chamber, said that changes were made after listening to vendors and visitors. The event will be held on a Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday morning and afternoon, and set-up and teardown will be the same day for vendors.

The event remains free to the public, and groups will be invited to provide entertainment for guests as in the past.

“The Expo is a great way to showcase what makes our area a great place to live, work and play,” Mach concluded.
