Cheyenne Rose Mikkelson, age 17,

Cheyenne Rose Mikkelson, age 17, of Prior Lake, died tragically in a car accident on her way to work at the Renaissance Festival on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Cheyenne was born on July 3, 1999 in Burnsville, MN. She attended New Prague Public Schools and was currently a senior. Cheyenne was a free-spirit, with a kind and gentle soul. She was a gift to everyone who knew her, kind and compassionate and always willing to come to the aid of anyone in need. She was a best friend to her parents and siblings. Attending concerts with her parents were always special events; she especially loved heavy metal music. Her artistic side came out in her love of tattoos and piercings and she showed a special ability in welding, sometimes coming out with a better weld than her dad! Cheyenne’s interests also included a love of animals, kayaking, and fishing, particularly river fishing.

Cheyenne is survived by her parents, Candice and David Mikkelson of Prior Lake; siblings, Cody, Sage, and Hanna; grandparents, Wayne & Bonnie Sander of Minneapolis, Darin Wencl of Austin; great-grandmother, Katharina Sander of Eagan; many, many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by grandmothers, Kathy Sander and Donna Lucille Wencl.

A memorial funeral service will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at 7:30 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Goulson officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until service time. Cheyenne's family requests that you wear your favorite band T-shirt to her visitation and service; Cheyenne's favorite band was Avenged Sevenfold.
