City administrator to resign
Montgomery may soon be searching for a new city administrator.
Steve Helget, who has lead the city since March 6, 2006 has tentatively submitted his resignation with the City of Montgomery.
In the city council packet for the official meeting on Thursday, July 18 that was released on Monday, item number #8A-2 states that Helget has accepted a position with the City of Norwood Young America. Upon their council’s approval of an employment agreement, Helget will submit his resignation with Montgomery.
The NYA council is scheduled to hold a special meeting Monday, July 15, with Helget’s approval as its only item of business.
The Montgomery City Council is also expected to discuss and possibly approve the executive search firm of Springsted Inc. to facilitate finding a replacement for Helget. According to a letter to Montgomery Mayor Jean Keogh dated July 11, representatives from the firm will attend the July 18 meeting to discuss how the firm can help in the search.
