With the ceremonial turning of a valve on Tuesday, Feb. 22, the City of New Prague marked the closing of its old Wastewater Treatment Plant and the opening of its new plant at 601 12th St. NE.
Past and present members of the New Prague City Council participated in the ceremony. Among them was former Mayor Craig Sindelar who was among those who first approved the plans for the plant, and former council member Kay Wilcox who was on the council through both the planning and construction of the new plant. Former Mayor W.A. Bink Bender was unable to attend. Mayor Chuck Nickolay was on hand to represent the current council.
It's been a long time in coming
