Clay Target team gets ready for Class 8A State Championship
For the sixth straight year the New Prague Trojans have participated in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League’s (MSHSCTL) spring Trap Shooting League.
A group of nine Trojans began training for this year’s MSHSCTL Class Championship this past February and they’re starting to see the benefits of their hard work. The group of Trojans included Sam Sticha, Tucker Tietz, Kortney Novak, Alex Larson, Rieley Kilian, Christopher Stepka, Woodrow Glazer, Matt Rossi and Ben Dietz. All of these athletes have seen improvements in their averages and some have increased their averages by three or more targets out of 25 from last year’s averages.
The rest of the team of 73 Trojans joined this group in weekly practices, which began in March. The team has seen steady improvement over the last several months with many achieving “personal bests” each week.
The team is now in their final week of preparation before they travel to Alexandria, MN to compete in the MSHSCTL Class 8A State Championship.
