Cletus A. Wagner, 54

Cletus A. Wagner, 54, of Faribault, died on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Our lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home in St. Paul after a six month battle with cancer.

Cletus Wagner was born on June 13, 1950, in New Prague, to Anton and Antoinette (Lenzmeier) Wagner. He grew up on the family farm in New Market and attended St. Nicholas Catholic grade school there. He commuted to Bethlehem Academy in Faribault where he graduated in 1968. He attended Faribault Technical College. After being drafted, Clete served active duty in Vietnam. He completed 22 years of military service. He has been a resident of the Faribault area for many years. Clete was employed at Faribault Food for the past 13 years. He was an active member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, the AA Club, Faribault Knights of Columbus, American Legion and VFW and the Faribault Community Park and Recreation Center.

He is survived by his children, Jake, Ellie, Clint and wife, Tiffany; grandchildren, Courtney, Peyton and Riley; sisters, S. Antonette Marie SSND, Ag (Herb) Farguson, S. Monica SSND, S. Esther SSND, and Judy; brother, Clem (Linda) Wagner; brother-in-law, Len Meger; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wagner; special friend, Linda Wilde. Also many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Theresa Meger and S. Dolores SSND, brother, Connie Wagner.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov 8, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Immaculate Conception in Faribault. The Rev. Kevin Finnegan officiated.

Visitation was at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday, one hour prior to the services. Parish prayers were held at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Interment was at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, with military honors.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home of St. Paul, School Sisters of Notre Dame, the AA Club or the donor’s choice.
