Coach Jeff Gravon dies - Updated

Jeff Gravon, 45, physical education teacher at New Prague Middle School and head boys basketball coach at New Prague High School, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 21, in Rochester, where he was a patient at the Mayo Clinic.

Gravon had been battling a recurrence of the cancer that had caused his arm to be amputated last February. He had been on a medical leave of absence from his teaching position for about a year, but had continued to coach basketball. Gravon was at the Mayo Clinic last week, but returned to coach in the Trojans' win over Waconia Friday, Jan.
