Cooling off and enjoying it

While Barb Factor was talking about children from Kids Company, a day care run through New Prague Area Schools, it could be applied to anyone who uses the New Prague Area Community Swimming Pool. The pool opened June 4 and will be open until August 24 and offers something for everyone.

There are classes for many ages at the pool located on Lexington Avenue S., next to the Memorial Park baseball field. For parents and those under the age of three, there are the Water Babies classes. From there, classes are offered to children up to age 12 with a life guard class for 15-year-olds. Classes throughout the summer will be in the morning from 9-11:50 a.m. There are two evening sessions of classes planned. The first is from June 19-30 and the second is scheduled for July 10-21. Times for both sessions are 5:30-6:20 p.m. and 6:30-7:20 p.m.

Katie Bachel, manager of the pool, said there is open swim for everybody from 1-5 p.m. everyday, except for July 4, when the pool will be closed. A Twilight Swim
