Council asks for more info on Chart business subsidy
The New Prague City Council was asked at its Monday, Oct. 17, meeting for directions concerning business subsidies with Chart, Inc. The council’s consensus was to ask for more information, especially with how the Scott County Board of Commissioners handled the issue. .
City Attorney Scott Riggs of the firm Kennedy & Graven presented the information and history about the subsidies.
In November of 2012 the city of New Prague, Scott County and the New Prague Area School District entered into a Contract for Private Development, for the expansion of Chart’s New Prague facilities. The contract also had various other agreements providing for business subsidies as defined by Minnesota statutes.
