Curtain Call to hold auditions for ‘Blather, Blarney and Balderdash’

Curtain Call Theatre will hold auditions for its fall children’s show “Blather Blarney and Balderdash” on September 4 and 5. Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on both nights at the New Prague Middle School Auditorium and Choir Room.

Auditions are for kids in grades kindergarten to grade 12. There are speaking parts for 40 characters with more non-speaking roles available.

Director Andy Velishek said children should come to auditions prepared to read from the script.

He emphasized that prior acting experience is NOT necessary.

The children’s play is about three hilarious and action-packed Irish folk and fairy tales that collide in raucous laughter when a trio of wild and crazy leprechauns try to help tongue-tied shepherd Fin O’Grady learn to tell a story and win the hand of his one true love.

Performance dates are October 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and October 27 at 2 p.m.
