Dance team gets kicking in first two meets of season
The New Prague High School Dance team has had two competitions so far this year.
On Saturday, Nov. 23, the team took part in the Burnsville Invitational, and three of the Trojans’ four teams - the JV kick, varsity kick and varsity jazz teams - placed second in their division.
On Tuesday, Nov. 26, the Trojans traveled to Shakopee for a Missota Conference Kick meet. The varsity placed seventh and the JV sixth.
“Our scores were higher on Tuesday than on Saturday, so we’re pleased with how we did,” said Coach Chris Plambeck. “With a conference as tough as ours, it’s hard to say how well we did just by looking at the ranking,” she added. “We’removing in the right direction.”
New Prague competes at a Missota jazz meet Thursday, Dec. 5, and in a Missota kick meet Monday, Dec. 9.
