A day in the principal’s chair

Paisley Reynolds, daughter of Jason and Krista Reynolds of Elko New Market, was able to spend Friday, April 7, leading her school as she was Principal for a Day at Eagle View Elementary School. The kindergarten student in JoAnne Torp’s class helped principal Will Remmert at the Elko New Market school through most of the day with an assortment of activities.

Remmert said Paisley helped lead the SOAR (Safety, Own our behavior, Achieve our goals and Respond respectfully) assembly. She recognized her fellow students who were the bus riders of the month and the weekly SOAR to success winners. Jason and Krista Reynolds also attended to watch their daughter.

“She is a ball of energy,” said Remmert about Paisley. “We weren’t sure if she would be able to announce the names, but she had no problem doing that.”

Paisley was chosen from a number of students in a drawing for the chance to be Principal for a Day. Paisley’s grandmother, Vicki Reynolds, a volunteer at the school, had bought several tickets during the school’s Family Fun Night and placed those tickets in the drawing. Among them was the winning ticket.
