Dr. John “Jack” Richter, age 88,
Dr. John “Jack” Richter, age 88, of New Prague, died peacefully surrounded by his family after a sudden illness, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.
Jack was born July 11, 1928, in Lonsdale, MN to Henry R. and Frances V. (Schultz) Richter. He attended elementary school in Lonsdale and high school in Montgomery and Faribault. He began his college education at St. Olaf College and attained his Doctor of Chiropractic at Northwestern Chiropractic College in Minneapolis. Jack was the youngest licensed chiropractor and the longest practicing chiropractor in Minnesota, seeing his last patient days before he died.
He led a full life, enjoying archery in his younger years and gardening and travel long into his later years. He was dedicated to his profession and his patients and was well-loved by all. His greatest priority was his family; he loved time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed attending their activities.
Dr. Jack is survived by his wife, Bev of New Prague; daughters, Debbie (& Scott) Duffney of Shakopee, Dawne (& George) Neu of West Fargo, ND; sister-inlaw, Lenora Richter of Northfield; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dr. Theodore Richter & Dr. Leroy Richter; sisters, Pearl Truax & Grace Anderson.
A Memorial funeral service was held Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jordan with Rev. Jeremy Glowicki presiding. Visitation took place 2 hours prior to service at church from 9 - 11 AM. Lunch followed the service in the church hall.
