Dr. Milton C. Bauer DVM

Dr. Milton C. Bauer DVM, entered his eternal rest on January 5, 2017, with his family by his side.
  Milt was born in 1938 in New Prague, Minnesota. He was the second son of Rose and Milton B. Bauer, of Montgomery, Minnesota. He attended school in Montgomery and graduated from high school in 1956 where he was active in theater and sports. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating in 1960 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry while playing baseball and football at the college.
  In 1965 he graduated from the Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Minnesota, and served in the Air Force in Bitburg, Germany from 1965 to 1968 as Base Veterinarian.
  He owned and operated Southview Animal Hospital in West St. Paul from 1972 to 1988.  In 1996 he earned a Master Degree in Veterinary Clinical Pathology from the University of Minnesota.
  He enjoyed retirement by volunteering over 4,000 hours at both the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minnesota Zoo. He was a longtime member of the Salem Lutheran Church choir and the South St. Paul Men's Chorus.
  He is survived by his wife, Betty (Hoefs) Bauer; three sons, Eric, Stephen and David; daughters in-law Beth (Moha) Bauer, and Rady (Taing) Bauer;  and grandchildren, Isaac, Love, Joshua and Isabella Bauer.
  A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 at 12 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 11 W. Bernard, West St. Paul, MN 55118. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
