Duane L. Volk, 88

Duane L. Volk, age 88, of Waterville, died on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center, Mankato. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown, on Saturday, January 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Juan Palm officiating. Spring interment will be held at Concordia Cemetery, Morristown. Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. and the family will also greet friends at the church for one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Duane, the son of William and Clara (Hickel) Volk, was born on January 16, 1929 in Mankato. He married Elizabeth "Liz" Labs on February 19, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mankato. Duane was the owner and operator of a live bait business and was also previously employed at Hubbard Milling Company of Mankato and Hunt Potato Company of Faribault. He was known as a roofer for the tough jobs on high structures. Duane was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed puzzles, playing cards and traveling. He is survived by two children, Debra Enger of Owatonna and Joe (and Nicole) Volk of Waterville; one daughter in law, Kim Volk of Faribault; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three siblings, Robert (and Carol) Volk of St. Peter, Merle (and Jane) Volk of Mankato and Catherine Tietz of Kasota; and his companion, Mary Liestman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; two children, Bonnie Vogelpohl and David Volk; one son in law, Phil Enger; one grandson, Erich Volk; and three brothers, Frank, Lawrence and Gerald. Visit boldtfuneralhome.com for information and guest book.
