ENM senior housing/library plan moves forward

At its September 23 meeting, the Elko New Market City Council set a public hearing for Thursday, Oct. 14, to take comments on a proposed senior housing complex that would include a public library.

The development, called Market Village Residential Community, would have 49 senior housing units and a 4,000 square-foot library. It would be located south of Scott County Road 2 (Elko New Market's Main Street) and west of J. Roberts Way.

The city would finance the project, which is being developed by the Scott County Community Development Agency (CDA). Construction is scheduled to begin in March, 2011, and would take about a year to complete.
