Erma Steinhoff, age 95

Erma Steinhoff, age 95, of New Prague, died peacefully early Saturday morning, July 9, 2016, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center.

Erma was born June 17, 1921 at Union Hill, MN to William A. and Josephine (Barten Hauer) Weiers.

She attended country school at Union Hill and married Erwin J. "Erv" Steinhoff on July 10, 1946 at St. John's Church in Union Hill.

Erma worked in the housekeeping department at Queen of Peace Hospital and also worked for MN Valley Breeders Association in New Prague. She belonged to Catholic Aid and had many hobbies. She was an avid cane pole fisherwoman and gardener, both flowers and vegetables. Her family enjoyed the fruits of her garden in her canning abilities, particularly her pickles. She loved playing cards, especially euchre and sheephead.

Erma is survived by her children, Jolene Bell of Minnetonka, Glen (Shelly) Steinhoff of Farmington; daughter- in-law, Doris Steinhoff of Minnetonka; brother, Ralph (Helen) Weiers of New Prague; 4 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Erv on May 25, 2006; parents; son, James R. Steinhoff; sister, Mary Ann Busch; step-brother, John Hauer; step-sister, Ceil Lehman.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation was held Thursday morning from 8:00-10:30 a.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial took place at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
