Evelyn Sevcik, 93
Evelyn Mary Sevcik, 93, formerly of Lonsdale, died on Monday, August 9, at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.
Evelyn was born at home in Erin Township, Rice County, on April 11, 1917, a daughter of Frank Sr. and Anna (Kuzelka) Hruby. She lived her entire life in the Lonsdale area. On May 20, 1940, she married James J. Sevcik at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale. She was a homemaker, a baker and a gardener and enjoyed sewing, crocheting rugs and embroidering.
She is survived by children Betty (Al) David and Ron (Carol), Faribault; four grandchildren Mary (Michael) Schneider, Michael (Jennifer) David, all of Faribault, Jennifer David (and fiance Ben Crump), Baton Rouge, LA and Anne (Nathan) Mack, DeForest, WI., eight great-grandchildren Philip, Thomas, Steven, Christopher and Sarah David and Taylor, Devin and Dominic Mack; brother Edward (Adeline) Hruby, Lonsdale; sister-in-law Lillian Hruby, Faribault; and brother-in-law Edward Sevcik, Northfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Frank Jr. and George Hruby; sisters Elsie Novak and Helen Sladek; and a great-grandson, Jacob Mack.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12, at 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale.
Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale.
Visitation was held at the White Funeral Home in Lonsdale on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Thursday for one hour prior to the services.
