Fast starts give Trojans 3 wins

The New Prague Trojans won three of four games last week to bring their record above .500 for the season. New Prague is 7-6 overall (3- 3 Wright County East).

The Trojans’ home game with Delano Tuesday, May 10, was postponed due to rain and has yet to be rescheduled. The Trojans will play at Hutchinson Thursday, May 12, and at Coon Rapids Friday, May 13, before hosting Mankato East Monday, May 16. The Trojans play two games at Orono on Tuesday, May 17, including a makeup game.

Trojans 12, Wildcats 0 Adam Meyer pitched a two-hitter and Carter Seymour had five hits as the New Prague Trojans defeated Waconia 12-0 Tuesday, May 3, in Waconia. The Trojans jumped to a 5- 0 lead in the top of the first when the first six batters reached base safely. Alex Gregor, Taylor Lambrecht and Seymour each had hits, and there were two errors and a hit batter as New Prague sent 10 batters to the plate.

New Prague added a run in the fifth when Seymour scored on a Bridger Hahn single. Two more runs came in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Seymour and an RBI single by Connor Pint. The Trojans added four more in the seventh, with Nathan Berg hitting a two-run home run, followed by back-toback doubles by Lambrecht and Meyer and a sacrifice fly by Frank Bartyzal.

Meyer pitched seven innings, allowing two hits and striking out one. He did not walk a batter.
