Fire Department honors Adamek and Kadrlik

Fighting fires are family traditions for the recipients of the Montgomery Fire Department’s awards this year.

Every year the company’s chief officers from the Montgomery Fire Department select a volunteer firefighter who has demonstrated a strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to serving their community. They name the recipients at their annual banquet the end of January.

The department chose Tim Adamek as the Firefighter of the Year. Adamek has been on the department for 18 years and serves as the 2nd Assistant Chief. He has previously been a lieutenant for 10 years and a gambling manager for five years. Chief Ken Pavek said Adamek’s hard work in the department hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The department also named an officer of the year. That award went to the department’s 1st Assistant Chief, Tony Kadrlik.
