Fireworks will go on in New Prague

New Prague-Ceska-Louisville Mutual Insurance Company has stepped forward to sponsor a fireworks show during the Independence Day weekend in New Prague, it was announced on Thursday, June 20.

The show will begin at 10:10 p.m., Friday, July 5, with fireworks being shot off from near the New Prague Area Schools bus garage. A public viewing area will be set up as in past years at the New Prague MIddle School athletic grounds north of Scott County Road 37 (Seventh Ave. NE), east of the middle school. 

RES Specialty Pyrotechnics will be providing this year's show. 

A volunteer group had presented the show for the past 36 years, but announced that last year would be the final year.
