Fishing with the Minnesota Vikings

Youth from Le Sueur County had something to talk about on Saturday, June 10, after they spent the morning hanging out with players from the Minnesota Vikings Football team.

 

After getting free fishing poles and sunglasses, more than 50 youth joined Vikings players Josiah Price, Ben Gedeon, Sam McCaskill, Shaan Washington, Caleb Kidder, Eric Wilson, Laquon Treadwell and Rick Spielman, general manager of the team, on 16 pontoons for a couple hours of fishing.

 

Wilson, a defensive linebacker from Detroit, said he has fished before coming to Minnesota, but added that he’s done more since coming to the state. When asked if he wanted to participate in the fishing event, he jumped at the opportunity. 

 

“I didn’t want to miss the chance to spend time with the kids outside,” the rookie commented. “It was a good time. Our boat had 70 fish today.”
