Girls 2nd at WCC track meet
The New Prague Trojans put out a good effort in the Wright County East Track and Field meet on their home turf Tuesday, May 17, but the came up a little short, as Waconia scored 153.7 points to take first place. New Prague was second at 141, followed by Orono (118.7), Hutchinson (64), Holy Family Catholic (40) and Delano (36.2).
The Trojans had three first place finishers, with Randi Allar wining the pole vault, clearing 9 feet, 3 inches, Josie Herrmann winning the 400 in 1 minute, 0.45 seconds, and the 4x800 relay team of Catie Skaja, Kate Chromy, Jenna Lambrecht and Herrmann, finishing in 9:48.06.
Taking second for the Trojans were Mikayla Breiner in the triple jump, Allar in the high jump, Ashley Shimek in the 100 hurdles, Maria Berg in both the 800 and 1,600, and the 4x400 relay team of Herrmann, Lambrecht, McKenzie Holgate and Skaja.
Third place finishers for New Prague were Keegan Mulvihill in the 100 hurdles, Delaney McLoone in the 100, Holgate in the 300 hurdles and the 4x100 relay team of Mulvihill, Allar, Shimek and Callie Peterson.
New Prague’s fourth place finishers were Shimek and Shannon O’Rourke, tied in the high jump, Lexi Kreutzian in the shot put, McLoone in the 200, Bethany Vasecka in the 3,200 nd the 4x200 relay team of Delaney McLoone, Serena Thomas, Aidan McLoone and Makayla Shimek.
