Girls hold off River Lakes, 3-1

Brittany Sticha and Kasey Marquardt gave the New Prague Trojans a 2-0 lead after two periods, and the Trojans held on for a 3-1 win over River Lakes in the opening round of the New Prague Tournament Friday, Nov. 26.

The Stars pulled their goaltender and scored in the final two minutes to tighten the game, but Lindsay Paschke iced the win with an empty net goal with 50 seconds remaining. River Lakes outshot the Trojans 33-22, with Shyler Sletta getting 32 saves for the Trojans.
