Girls take 4th at Missota Relays

New Prague's girls track and field team traveled to Shakopee twice last week. The team took fourth at the Missota Relays on Tuesday, then placed first in a four-team meet Thursday.

The Trojans were scheduled to compete in the Section 4AA True Team meet at Orono Tuesday. That meet was postponed and will be made up Friday, May 14. New Prague's next meet will be Thursday, May 20, at Shakopee.



Missota Relays

New Prague's girls track and field team placed fourth at the Missota Relays in Shakopee Tuesday, May 4. The relays are a measure of depth. All events are relays or scored with three or four competitors times or distances added together.

Prior Lake won the meet with 213 points. Shakopee was second with 146, followed by Northfield (134), New Prague (128), Farmington (116), Red Wing (103), Hutchinson (99) and Holy Angels (81).

Trojan finishes:

First place: Discus (Ellie Reinke, Kristin Carr, Lindsey Reinke); Throwers 4x100 relay (Kristin Carr, Sara Glisczinski, Lauren Carr, Ellie Reinke)

Second place: Shot put (Glisczinski, Lindsey Reinke, Moukda Chonnlamany)

Third Place: Triple jump (Anna Rynda, Glisczinski, Sarah Hoffman), 4x800 relay (Jenny Trettel, Annie Dittberner, Sara Rookaird, Korey Wilson) 200-200-400-800 relay (Shannon Russell, Tasha Jendersee, Anna Rynda, Mikaela Algren) 300 IM hurdle relay (Rena Kneeland, Melanie Clausen, Kelsey Meyer, Chesna Breiner)

Fourth place: Long jump (Kneeland, Brianna Brown, Sydney Samson), High jump (Carr, Hoffman, Glisczinski), Shuttle hurdle relay (Brown, Samson, Katie Jensen, Kneeland)

Fifth place: 4x400 relay (Dittberner, Rynda, Algren, Kneeland)



Shakopee Quad

The Trojans returned to Shakopee Thursday, May 6, and won a four-team meet with three other Missota squads. The Trojans had 105 points, followed by Farmington with 88, Shakopee had 42.5 and Hutchinson 18.5.

The Trojans took seven first-place finishes, with Kneeland a double winner, taking the long jump and the 100 m. hurdles. Shelby Dugas, Ellie Reinke, Dittberner and Algren also took first place, as did the 4x800 relay team.

Fourth place: Melissa Haecherl (long jump, 100 m.), Danielle Tikalsky (pole vault), Lindsey Reinke (discus), Samson (200 m).
