Gregg Wolf participates in 2007 World Sporting Clay championships in Prague

Patrick Fisher, Staff Writer

Gregg Wolf of Jordan was a member of the 2007 Team USA Men's Open Team at the 2007 World FITASC Sporting Clay Championships in Prague, Czech Republic on July 12 to 14.

In the clay target shooting competition, Team USA won the top spot, including gold medals, defeating 25 teams entered from other countries.

Last year local enthusiasts of the sport were able to watch it up close, as the world championships were held at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club in Prior Lake.

Wolf has participated in the competition before. In 2004 at Signes, France, he became the first and so far only American to win the individual world sporting clay championship.

During this year's individual competition, Wolf finished as the top competitor from the United States and was fourth overall against 1,000 others from around the world. Coincidentally, the top four marksmen were all former World Champions.

Wolf is the son of Dave and Char Wolf of Jordan, owners of Wolf Motors in Jordan.
