Gymnasts take 2nd at Jackson Invitational

The New Prague Trojan gymnastics team had two outstanding performances last week, topping the 141-point mark twice in two days. However, neither was good enough to win as they lost to Northfield (No. 1, Class AA) in a dual meet Friday, Jan. 21, and placed second behind Eagan (No. 4, Class AA) at the Jackson Sweetheart Invitational.

New Prague (No. 7, Class A) was scheduled to face Farmington Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Farmington. They will host Chanhassen/Chaska on Friday, Jan. 28, at home, then travel to Sherburne Saturday, Jan. 29, for the State Class A True Team meet. Other teams competing in that meet include Becker, Big Lake, Detroit Lakes, Jackson County Central, Martin County West/Fairmont Area, Melrose, Perham, Rush City/ Pine City/Hinckley-Finlayson and Sartell.

New Prague will travel to Red Wing Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Raiders 148.175,

Trojans 143.425

Coach Matt Shetka had no complaints about the performance of his squad in their dual meet with the Raiders.
