Gymnasts top DC in season finale

The New Prague Trojan gymnastics team concluded its regular season with a win over Dassel-Cokato Thursday, Feb. 1, at Cokato.

The Trojans had a strong performance, topping 140 points for the second time this season. The score was 140.325- 129.275. The Trojans opened on vault and took the top four places. Caitlyn Pint was first with a 9.15, followed by Grace Montgomery (9.025), Tina Shimota (9.0) and Sophie Guerrette (8.85). Emmalyn Dickerson also competed and placed seventh at 8.6.

On bars, New Prague took the top three places. Allie Eischens was the top scorer at 8.75, followed by Kaylynn Solheid (8.625) and Mahri Halbmaier (8.225). Dickerson was fifth at 8.15 and MJ Dalsin scored a 6.85

. The Trojans took the top three spots on beam. Dickerson had the top score at 8.825, followed by Lauren Kitner (8.75) and Eischens (8.3). Solheid placed fifth (7.9) and Belle Clancy was eighth (7.275).

New Prague claimed five of the top six scores on floor exercise. Leading the way was Eischens with a 9.6, followed by Clancy (9.25). Solheid tied for third at 9.2, while Shimota was fifth at 8.825 and Dickerson sixth at 8.8.

Dickerson won the all-around competition with a score of 34.275.
