Heidi Kick dives into state meet
New Prague High School senior diver Heidi Kick, a member of the Montgomery-Lonsdale/New Prague swimming and diving team, has qualified for the state meet to be held Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 22-24, at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
Heidi placed 3rd in the section meet with a score of 248.25, putting her in competition with some of the best divers in the state next week.
Kick is the second member of the combined Montgomery-Lonsdale/ New Prague swimming and diving team — and of her family — to qualify for the state meet. Her sister, Hannah, qualified in diving two years ago.
Swimming Coach Joshua Franz said two team records were broken by team members in the section meet — 50 Free, :26.90, Brittani Bohlke, and 100 Backstroke, 1:11.13, by Jenna Baer.
