High school construction underway

Work on the addition to New Prague High School is underway, with excavation work on the building and parking lot areas beginning last month. The project will provide added classroom space to the northeast wing of the building, along with an expanded cafeteria and gym area. Voters approved a bond referendum to finance the project in November, 2005. The addition will increase the capacity of the high school from 1,000 to 1,500 students. Excavation should be completed before school starts this fall and the entire project is scheduled to be ready for the 2007-08 school year.
