High school gym is off limits

Because of a water main break that flooded the New Prague High School gym Tuesday, the gym will be off limits for the next seven to 10 days, according to school administrators.

There will be no high school practices or activities in the gym, and attempts have been made to contact groups scheduled to use the gym between now and February 16.

The February 6 boys game against Hutchinson was postponed. In addition, a girls games February 8 against Northfield, February 10 against Mankato West and February 15 against Red Wing, the boys basketball game February 13 against Farmington and the wrestling match February 9 against Prior Lake may need to be rescheduled or moved to another site. Athletic Director Bob Scripture was hoping to get most of the events rescheduled or moved by Wednesday. Many of the events will likely be rescheduled for the Middle School gym, while others may have a date or time change.
