Highway 13 detour for slope repair begins Sept. 6

Motorists are advised that Highway 13 south of Highway 99 will be detoured beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6 for crews to repair a failing slope.

The detour consists of Le Sueur County Roads 8 and 3, and Highway 99.  The detour will be in place until project completion in mid-October.

The project includes excavating an area just north of Le Sueur County Road 138 where the road is settling due to poor underlying soils. Crews will replace the poor soils with a light-weight geofoam material to prevent future sinking.

Raw Construction of Faribault is the contractor on the $450,000 project.
