HRS junior high students perform the Passion
As Easter approaches, junior high students at Most Holy Redeemer School performed the Passion of Christ on Wednesday, March 23.
More than a dozen students put on the show in the church. The entire student body watched the performances as well as parents and visitors.
Holy Redeemer teacher Christine Trcka produced the playlet, which was led by Collin Barnett in the role of Jesus. The performances highlighted and told the story of the Last Supper, the arrest and trial, crucifixion and subsequent resurrection.
The cast included Collin Barnett as Jesus; Grace Barnett in the chorus and member of crowd; Anna Deutsch as a narrator and weeping woman; Ben Heyda as the Son of Zebedee/disciple and Caiaphus, soldier, and narrator; Thomas Bulger as Peter, Simon of Cyrene, and Joseph of Aramathea; Erika Kadrlik as an instrumentalist, false witness to Caiaphus, woman in courtyard, weeping woman, and narrator; Nate Leonard as Caiaphus' servant, member of crowd, and soldier; Michelle Ramirez in chorus and member of the crowd; Rachel Rynda as an instrumentalist, narrator, and Mary; Darien Schoenbauer as the son of Zebedee/ disciple, Pilate, narrator, and soldier, and Jack Urtuzuastegui as Judas. The students in fifth grade played the crowd.
