John Pelowski, 83
John J. Pelowski, 83, of Le Center, died at his home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
John was born in Lexington Township, Le Sueur County on June 25, 1926, a son of John S. and Mary (Miska) Pelowski. He attended country school in Lexington Township, and then served in the United States Navy from October 11, 1944, until June 29, 1946. He married Phyllis Koralesky on June 24, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington Township. John farmed and did carpentry work. He was a member of the Le Center VFW and the Montgomery Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, refinishing furniture and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; children Michael (Debbie) Pelowski, Le Sueur, Gary (Carol) Pelowski, Le Center and Lynn (Gary) Heinzig, Montgomery; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a brother William (Hedi) Pelowski, Montgomery; and sister-in-law Rosie Pelowski, Lexington.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles John; his parents; a brother, Anthony; and sister, Mary Ann Schanus.
Funeral services were held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on Friday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lexington. Casketbearers were Pete, Dan, Jason, Brad, Cody and Brandan Pelowski.
Visitation was held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
