Karen M. Keohen, 72

Karen M. Keohen, 72, of Bloomington, formerly of Montgomery, died Oct. 30, 2013, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

A memorial visitation was held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. A Mass of Christian Burial was also held on Monday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. at the church

Karen was born on June 13, 1941, in Faribault, to Kenneth and Lorraine (Young) O'Brien. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy, the Faribault School of Practical Nursing, and later received a degree in social work from Mankato State University.

Karen married Jerry Keohen on August 3, 1960, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. She worked in the nursing profession for 50 years.

Karen enjoyed being with her family, and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins.

She is survived by children, Jerry of Bloomington, Kenny of Montgomery, Kevin (Mary Kaye) of Shakopee, Katy of Eden Prairie and Chuck (Amy) of Owatonna; five grandchildren, Jane, Jen, Tom, Emily and PJ; and brother, Dan O'Brien of Florida.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband Jerry and her parents.
